Rules and Regulations

South Dakota America Pageants shall be hereafter referred to as, "SDAP" or “State Level”

1. Applicant and her parent(s) understand that she is competing for a State Title only and will not advance to a national competition.

2. Applicant is and always has been a female and will be age 15-17 on the date of the pageant.

3. Applicant will continue to be a person of good moral character; affirms that she has not committed and will not commit any act inconsistent with the highest standards of public morals and conventions or that will reflect unfavorably on the Pageant, its representatives, sponsors and or/licensees. 

4. The Applicant must be resident of the State of South Dakota or have a parent that is a resident of the State of South Dakota.

5. Applicant agrees to look solely to the State Directors with respect to all matters relating to the State Pageant, including her application to enter the State Pageant, the preparation, rehearsal, performance and selection process relating to the State Pageant and all other matters relating to the State Pageant.

6. Applicant understands that the areas of competition are the following: Personal Interview (50% of score), Activewear (25% of score), and Evening Gown with Onstage Question (25% of score).  There may be other awards available, however, those awards do not go towards an overall score to win a title.

7. Applicant may have a modeling, personal management and/or agency contract, which contract, however, does not include, authorize, or permit the use of the name of “Teen Miss for South Dakota Pageant” or any title designation or reference with respect to the Pageant in any manner.

8. Relative to Statematters, the Directors shallhave the final approvalof wardrobe, appearances, press releases, coaching and hair and make-up providers.

9. Applicant and her parent(s) hereby authorizethe use of any Pageantphotos or video reproduction of the Applicantat the State Pageant for promotional purposes.

10. Mrs. South Dakota America Pageants/MCJ Productions LLC at its discretion, may conduct separate Pageants or Contests, such as a: “1st Runner-Up” or “People’s Choice” Contest.

11. As consideration for this agreement, Applicant’s parent(s) promises to pay the respective State entry fee, all payments being non-refundable.

12. Failure of a Contestant to abide by the rules above may result in disqualification and or removal of a Local or State Title at the discretion of the State Directors.
